To mark his New York Fashion Week debut on Monday night, the German-born, Switzerland-based designer, who traditionally presents his collections in Milan, turned the foyer of the New York Public Library into a deliciously weird, living, breathing repository of 21st century American popular culture, complete with a star-spangled building facade, entrance steps lined with a dozen living, breathing, torch-wielding, all-green Statues of Liberty, an Elvis impersonator and the Naked Cowboy (the underwear-wearing, guitar-playing stage name of Robert John Burck), thrown in for good measure.
Pictures from the event show that Tiffany ultimately sat at the show between her close designer friend Andrew Warren and her society pal Gaia Matisse, great-great-granddaughter of Henri Matisse.
Christina took a photo of the available seats next to Tiffany, adding: "Empty seats next to Tiffany Trump". When speaking on the opportunity afterward on Instagram, Meeks said, "Big thanks to @philippplein78 for believing in me..."
However, Tiff's presence caused quite an issue for show planners in the seating department - and not just because of her secret service detail. "He is going to get the wrong idea about fashion", she tweeted. The publication reports that "one top fashion editor" left the show before it began after learning that they were waiting on the iconic singer.
