A release date for the next X-Men movie has not been announced.
However, Comicbook.com recently spoke to writer/producer (and possibly director) Simon Kinberg, who has a hand in all of Fox's Marvel titles and who provided an update on those two outlier franchises, Gambit and Fantastic Four. The new "X-Men" film is a follow up to 2016's "X-Men: Apocalypse".
A new X-Men movie poses an interesting challenge for the studio: Actors Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult wrapped up their three-pic deals with last year's entry, so new deals will be necessary if anyone is plotting a return.
Collider's Steven Weintraub claims that Kinberg has already written the script for the next X-Men movie, and is in talks to direct it. Weintraub also backs up the rumors that it will revolve around Sophie Turner's young Jean Grey becoming the Dark Phoenix in the 1990s, which would help explain the current code name X-Men: Supernova. Sequels followed, including the better-than-the-original X2: X-Men United and the underwhelming X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Nonetheless, while this universe may have enough pieces to endure bad core X-Men films right now, it is best not to test that theory further.
Valuation of Snap Inc. Changes a Little
Incidentally, the charging case and charging cord can also be purchased from the website for $49.99 and $9.99, respectively. While the spectacles have not generated significant revenue so far, they have created a lot of publicity for the company.
That left the forthcoming Gambit movie to act as the first real attempt to build an X-Men Cinematic Universe.
"It's in active development". The process has been that Channing is as determined about getting the character right as Ryan Reynolds was about Deadpool and Hugh (Jackman) was about this Logan movie.
To be blunt, while the reboot does have a talented cast, I think audiences don't want to keep seeing Fantastic Four movies in the vein of a gritty, realistic take of teenagers who get superpowers.
At one point, a sequel to the 2015 Fantastic Four was planned for this year, but Fox canceled it after seeing the reactions to the reboot.
From screenwriting to directing, it looks like Simon Kinberg is set to go for his directorial debut. "One of the lessons we learned on that movie is that we want to make sure we get it 100% right, because we will not get another chance with the fans".
