Nurmagomedov fights this weekend for the interim iteration of McGregor's 155lbs crown, which he claimed by knocking out Alvarez in comprehensive fashion last November, and he's not buying the ease with which "The Notorious" got past the belt's previous incumbent.
Either Khabib Nurmagomedov or Tony Ferguson will be crowned the UFC interim lightweight champion at UFC 209, with the victor of their co-headlining bout landing in prime position to score a lucrative fight against the UFC's reigning 155-pound champion, Irish star Conor McGregor.
Ferguson (22-3), the victor of The Ultimate Fighter 13 in 2011, has won nine straight fights since his only UFC loss to Michael Johnson.
With that said, many are wondering who McGregor's next opponent will be when he does, in fact, return to the octagon.
Ferguson doesn't view Nurmagomedov as a worthy challenger, comparing him to UFC veteran Danny Castillo for his "lay-and-pray" style.
Supporters hold pro-Trump rally in Atlanta
According to a Facebook page promoting the rally , the event will start at 11:30 in the morning and end by 1 p.m. But if they don't, there's no telling if Trump will know that they even took place at all.
The undefeated Russian fighter also said that the lightweight belt was gifted by UFC President Dana White to McGregor.
A recent report from MMA Junkie revealed that Rafael dos Anjos is busy in getting himself ready for another fight. I do not understand this fight [McGregor vs. Alvarez], he catch him a few times and he falls down-to me this is a fake fight.
The UFC have consistently denied suggestions their biggest star could fight in the ring with a 49-0 boxer. But he does not like "El Cucuy" as a person. While fans surely would love to see the two square off, the matchup is starting to look more and more like a pipe dream.
Nurmagomedov has vowed to break Ferguson's arm, and that is something the latter isn't too impressed by, "I'm going to hit him with every f**king arsenal I have and I can submit him with one arm. That's how f**king pissed I am because of that". I think Tony is better. "I do not understand-a lot of people have a lot of questions about this fight".
Tony "El Cucuy" Ferguson will win via third round knockout.
