Women's Strike organizers encourage those who can't take the day off work - and even those who can - to avoid spending money on March 8.

In Cincinnati, United We Stand is planning a rally at Piatt Park in connection to A Day Without Women.

Wednesday is International Women's Day, a day observed worldwide as a way to empower women and improve women's rights.

A Day Without a Woman reaffirms our commitment to the Principles of Unity, which were collaboratively outlined for the Women's March. "To strike as a woman worker is not just to strike in the workplace, but to understand the unity between domestic roles and public roles that as women we constantly have to straddle".

The Minister has also invited persons to share photos on social media of themselves wearing purple in order to bring even more attention to the cause and IWD 2017.

Men and employers can also participate, Women's March wrote.

PSL: Karachi Kings beat Islamabad United by 44 runs
Wickets dropped like flies for United who were set a 127-run target by the Kings during the 22nd match of the PSL this season. The Karachi Kings racked up 126 runs, even as wickets fell like dominoes over the last five overs of the match.

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year all over the world with the focus of the celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements and abilities. Some colleges, such as Rutgers University in New Jersey, are also staging walkouts and marches. So around the world, International Women's Day provides an important opportunity for ground breaking action that can truly drive greater change for women. Zetkin suggested that every country should celebrate women on one day every year to push for their demands.

We honour those women who fought for the right to have property in their name, and for those who campaigned that discrimination against a person because of their sex, marital status, or pregnancy should be illegal.

The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, however, said earlier this year that it will be turning the spotlight on gender-based violence for the occasion. Co-founder Kiki Louya said they chose that number because, on average, women make 20 cents less then their male counterparts.

Phoebe Hopps, Michigan organizer for the January Women's March in Washington, D.C., said "if you are able to take off from work or school, you should". We often mistake women to be emotionally weak. In some countries especially in rural areas and villages, women still stick to homes only by putting valueless ethics on them.

Some female employees at Tumblr have made a decision to "strike for women less fortunate than us", as a staff product designer wrote in a blog post.
