BERLIN – A 96-year old woman was arrested on Thursday for Holocaust-related offenses. She had escaped from her trial and was working as a secretary at a Nazi concentration camp.
The trial against Irmgard Furchner was scheduled to start on Thursday morning, but the judge issued an warrant of arrest for her after she did not appear at court. According to court records, Ms. Furchner instead took a taxi to her Hamburg retirement home and then headed for a station.
