IMF Seeks to Allay Doubts Following Data-Rigging Scandal

Following a scandalous data-rigging scandal which engulfed its managing Director, the International Monetary Fund works to restore its position in international financial markets as it balances the interests of both its main supporters, the U.S.A. and China.

The IMF board cleared Kristalina Georgieva, the leader of the group, earlier this week. However the scandal continues to be a concern for some American legislators and the U.S Treasury. Senator Jim Risch, a Republican from Idaho who is the top ranking Republican in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, stated that if China could intimidate economic analysis objectively to achieve its desired results, it was concerning.
