China Levels Series of Allegations Against Former Law-Enforcement Official

A former senior Chinese law enforcement official was fired from the Communist Party on Thursday amid a flurry of allegations. This is a sign that President Xi Jinping may be continuing his anticorruption campaign, which has characterized his early years as a leader.

Sun Lijun was vice-minister of public security. He also had extensive connections to the Chinese legal system. This included a top Chinese officer who, for almost 2 years, was President Interpol. However, he is currently serving a 13-year sentence for taking bribes in China.
