Journalists in Philippines, Russia Win Nobel Peace Prize

The Nobel Peace Prize was presented to Maria Ressa (journalist) and Dmitry Muratov (journalist), for their work to protect freedom of expression in Russia and the Philippines against growing authoritarianism, misinformation and censorship.

In its Friday announcement, the Norwegian Nobel Committee stated that everyone should agree on basic facts in any situation and that journalists played an important role in helping preserve peace.
