Nobel in Chemistry Awarded for Work on Molecular Tool

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry for Chemistry was awarded jointly to U.S. scientist David MacMillan of the United States and Benjamin List from Germany, for developing a tool that can produce molecules with many useful applications.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences stated Wednesday that organocatalysis (a tool which accelerates chemical reactions) has made a significant impact on the research and development of new pharmaceuticals. It also helped to make chemistry more eco-friendly.
