Taliban Face Pressure Over New Afghan Government at Russia Conference

MOSCOW – Representatives of the Taliban attended the first international conference after the movement took control in Afghanistan. They met with officials from Russia and China in Moscow. There they were under pressure to create a more inclusive government , and adopt a friendly approach toward their neighbors.

Participants expressed concern about the activities of banned terrorist groups in Afghanistan and called for engagement, regardless of the fact that the international community recognises the Taliban government as the new Afghan government.
