U.K. Charges Man With Murder of Lawmaker David Amess

Prosecutors claim they will make the case that the murder was motivated by religious or ideological motives

Metropolitan Police official Matt Jukes said police work on the killing of David Amess would continue.

LONDON–British authorities charged a 25-year-old London man, Ali Harbi Ali, with murder and terrorism in the stabbing to death of lawmaker David Amess last week.

Mr. Ali faces trial over the killing of the Conservative lawmaker while he was meeting constituents in the middle of the day on Friday.
