U.S. Asks U.N. to Extend Taliban’s Travel-Ban Waiver
. Officials from Western countries claim that the U.S. wants to grant a waiver to the United Nations on the Taliban’s travel ban. This is part of a larger diplomatic gesture to the U.S. in encouraging the Taliban to adhere to its anti-terror and human rights commitments.

If approved by U.N. Security Council the waiver will allow the Taliban delegation to travel from Afghanistan to Doha (Qatar) where they can negotiate with U.S. officials. Next week’s waiver is due to expire and it is anticipated that the Security Council will consider whether to extend it on Tuesday. This waiver will allow you to access banking services when traveling.
