U.S. Flies Haitian Migrants Home in Bid to Manage Border Crisis

DEL RIO, Texas–The Biden administration has begun sending many of the approximately 16,000 migrants who have overwhelmed this small city in recent days to their home country of Haiti, including some who haven’t lived in the impoverished island nation for years.

Officials from both countries said that the first three flights carrying illegally arrived migrants landed in Haiti on Sunday. Two more planes were expected to arrive Monday. Alejandro Mayorkas, the U.S. Secretary for Homeland Security, stated Monday that any person without a legitimate claim to remain in the U.S.A will be removed quickly.
