White House Moves to Plan B for Glasgow Climate Summit

WASHINGTON – The White House is trying to convince world leaders that the U.S. can meet President Biden’s promise to drastically reduce carbon emissions, despite the recent legislative backslides.

The Biden Administration plan includes several executive actions that it claims will significantly progress towards fulfilling the president’s promise to reduce U.S. global warming emissions 50% from 52% lower than 2005 levels through 2030. They include stricter rules regarding oil and gas production, which are likely to be made public before the summit. Then they will announce more severe emissions standards for vehicles.
